What is Critical Illness cover?
• To ensure that your spouse and children will be provided for should you die, you may have taken out a life assurance contract. This contract simply pays out a lump sum on death.
• To ensure that you are able to receive specialist medical care should you need hospital treatment; you may have taken out private medical insurance. This contract will pay all your hospital and medical bills.
• But what can you do if you have to give up employment and stop earning due to severe ill health? For example, how will you support your family if you are diagnosed with cancer, or suffer a heart attack and can no longer work? Your life assurance will not be able to help as you are still alive. Private medical insurance will pay your medical fees but it will not replace your lost earnings.

This is where Critical Illness cover can help.
Critical Illness cover will pay you a lump sum to ensure you and your family can continue to live in the lifestyle you have been accustomed to, even if you are no longer able to work and earn an income through being diagnosed with a serious illness.
